Ashland Avenue Baptist Church is an autonomous local church. We are glad about what God is doing through the churches that choose to cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention. Therefore, we are presently in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention. While the SBC has no authority or control over the ministry of Ashland Avenue our partnership allows us to be a part of the greatest mission sending force in the history of the world and other strategic efforts for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Baptist Faith and Message (2000) contains a summary of our shared convictions. All members of Ashland are asked to be in substantial agreement with our doctrinal statement and not to be divisive in the congregation on points of disagreement.
